Heidi Nazer, Principal
As Principal of William Academy, Ms. Nazer brings over 20 years of experience in educational leadership, including more than 10 years as a high school principal and vice principal. She is an expert in instructional methods, as well as in planning, evaluating, and revising curricula to ensure students receive the best possible learning experience.
With a Master’s degree in English Literature and extensive international experience, Ms. Nazer has worked with teachers and students from around the world. Her global perspective, combined with her dedication to academic excellence, allows her to foster an inclusive and supportive school environment where every student can thrive.
Linda Lu, Head of Guidance
As Head of Guidance at William Academy, Ms. Lu is dedicated to inspiring and supporting students on their academic journeys. She provides expert consulting in study planning and post-secondary applications, helping students set clear goals and achieve success.
Ms. Lu earned her degree from Shanghai Normal University and began her career as a mathematics teacher. After moving to Toronto, she completed her Master of Arts at York University and went on to teach mathematics in Toronto public high schools. She holds an Ontario teacher’s license (since 1991) and a Senior Math Honors Specialist certificate from the Ontario College of Teachers.
With her rich experience in both Canadian and international education systems, Ms. Lu has guided countless students through transitions into new learning environments and has inspired fellow educators to strengthen their teaching practices. Her warmth, professionalism, and deep knowledge of mathematics education continue to make a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike.
William Weng, Head of Student Services
As Head of Student Services at William Academy, William is dedicated to supporting students both academically and personally. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo and is a CPA, CA.
For more than five years, William has guided students by sharing insights drawn from his own experiences as a learner and professional. Known for his approachable and caring nature, he is a trusted mentor who helps students navigate challenges and achieve their goals. His commitment to every student’s success ensures that each individual feels supported and empowered throughout their journey at William Academy.
Louis Sacco, Chairman
As Chairman of William Academy, Mr. Sacco brings over 30 years of distinguished experience in education and leadership. He has served as a principal in the public school system and later as a director at the regional school board, where he guided schools and teachers in achieving excellence.
In addition, Mr. Sacco contributed to higher education as a professor with the Faculty of Education at York University, mentoring future teachers as a practicum supervisor. His lifelong passion for education and respected leadership continue to inspire the William Academy community, supporting both students and educators in reaching their full potential.
Michael Charles, Trustee
Michael is a seasoned education professional whose career has spanned teaching, curriculum development, and school leadership. He began as a history teacher before becoming head of department and later history consultant with the York Region Board of Education. He then served as a professor at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and as Director of the University Partnership Office.
Michael was seconded to the Ministry of Education, where he contributed to the development of the Arts and Technology curriculum for Ontario schools. Following his retirement, he continued his leadership internationally as principal of an elite private school in Southeast Asia. His extensive experience and dedication to education continue to guide and inspire the William Academy community.
